Sanchez Art Center

Sanchez Art Center is pleased to present the 2015 Left Coast Annual Juried Exhibition, on view from April 10 through May 17. Showing concurrently in the East Gallery are Joni Marie Theodorsen and Anna Valdez, the exhibition award recipients selected from the 2014 Left Coast Annual by Jenny Gheith of SFMOMA.

The free opening reception takes place Friday, April 10, 7–9 pm, with live music provided by the wonderful vocal group Tonal Recall. Come prepared to make some art of your own at Family Art Night. Your creations will be displayed in Left on the Fence throughout the Left Coast Annual.

The juror for Left Coast Annual this year is Cathy Kimball, Executive Director and Chief Curator for the San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art. Kimball had the unenviable task of selecting 52 artworks from the almost 900 works submitted by 375 artists from California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii. The public is invited to the free Juror’s Talk and Awards Presentation on Sunday, April 12 at 3:30 pm to learn about the jurying process and to hear Cathy Kimball dialogue with artists about their work.

Sanchez Art Center is located at 1220 Linda Mar Boulevard in Pacifica, 1.2 miles east of Highway 1. Following opening night, the galleries are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 1–5 pm, and by appointment, through May 17.
