The 2011 Art
Guild of Pacifica Open House opens on Friday, Dec. 2, at
the Sanchez Art Center with a reception from 7 to 9 pm. The reception
offers a break from traditional holiday shopping with its crowded
parking and long lines. Here you can enjoy your favorite beverage
and finger food while browsing the gifts and art selections in
a gallery setting and enjoying the sounds of Lara Garner on harp,
and musical duo Vivace. You can meet many of the artists and discover
that perfect gift that cannot be found in stores and malls. Select
from gorgeous works in all media, including oils, acrylic, photography,
jewelry, mosaic, and sculpture, on view in three different galleries.
The exhibition will run throughout the weekend, from 1 to 5 pm
on Saturday, Dec. 3 and Sunday, Dec. 4.
The Art Guild of
Pacifica has been presenting exhibitions by its artist members
for fifty-three years with no signs of stopping. Described as
a gift to the community, this organization is entirely volunteer
based. The Art Guild of Pacifica serves as a forum for local artists
and holds several exhibits each year in the West Gallery of Sanchez
Art Center, an Annual Members Exhibition and an Open
House in early December.
The Sanchez Art
Center at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd. is just one mile from beautiful
Highway 1 on the coast in Pacifica, just south of San Francisco
and just north of Half Moon Bay. Additional information can be
reviewed at www.artguildopenhouse.com.
Galleries are staffed by AGP volunteers and are open Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday from 1 to 5 pm during exhibitions. The Art Center office
is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1 to 5 pm. For more
