Ringing in the new year, the Art Guild of Pacifica presents Light & Shadow, a group show. Open to any artwork or interpretation on the theme provides the opportunity for artists to share their own perspective, making a very interesting and engaging exhibit.

Artworks include Abigail Murthy's moody beach seascape in oil on panel with light coming through an opening in the rock while being quietly enjoyed. Also working in oil, Morning Nichols shares a night view and an isolated figure in shadow and just a bit of moonlight. Larisa Vaserman's wearable art necklace places translucent stones above flat black stone pieces creating a solid shadow.

The Art Guild holds four themed exhibitions a year, plus an annual members' show, and a holiday show and sale each December. Small works and cards are also available from the AGP Shop when their members are exhibiting.

Sanchez Art Center is located at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd in Pacifica, about a mile east of Highway 1. Following opening night, the galleries are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 1–5 pm, and by appointment, through Feb 11.

The opening, talks, and gallery visits are free as part of the Center's focus on "Creating Community through Art".
