The Main Gallery features “The Bay
Area Annual” an exhibition of contemporary paintings, sculpture, and
photography, juried by Karen Tsujimoto. The curator selected 25 artists from
a pool of 275 applications to create an exhibition that shows the diversity
and strength of Bay Area artists. Karen Tsujimoto is Senior Curator of Art
at the Oakland Museum of California. She is one of the most respected
curators working in the Bay Area today. She has more than 25 years
experience in the organization of exhibitions of modern and contemporary
art. In 1985, she organized
David
Ireland: A Decade Documented,
1975-1985 for the University of California, Berkeley Art Museum. She is the
author of many books, including The Art
of Joan Brown (1998) and The
Art of Peter Voulkos (1995) and
Wayne Thiebaud (1985). Karen
Tsujimoto will give a Juror’s Talk on Thursday, November 10 at 7pm. The
event is free and open to the public. |
