the East Gallery is an exhibit from Creativity Explored, an internationally
celebrated nonprofit art gallery and professional working studio
where over 130 artists with developmental disabilities create and
sell their work. This program gives developmentally disabled artists
the means to create and share their work with the community, celebrating
the power of art to change lives. The artworks they create are colorful,
expressive, and often very direct and appealing. Abstract and realistic
paintings will be shown alongside drawings and glazed ceramic sculptures.
The show's title, Looking Forward to It, expresses a positive
and optimistic outlook on life—a wonderful thing to share. The artworks
look at different layers of what the future holds.
Sanchez Art Center
is located at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd in Pacifica, about a mile east
of Highway 1. Following opening night, galleries are open Friday,
Saturday, and Sunday, 1–5 pm, and by appointment, through Mar 22.
